The LATITUDE™ Communicator is designed to collect information from your implanted device and send it to your health care team to assist them in managing your ongoing care.

About LATITUDE™

About LATITUDE™

Certain Boston Scientific pacemakers, defibrillators or S-ICDs come with an automatic, in-home monitoring system called LATITUDE. This gives your health care provider access to updates about how your cardiac device is working remotely between scheduled office visits, so you don’t have to leave the comfort of your home. Here, you can learn about how this technology works, how to use it at home and how it could help your doctor monitor your heart condition.

LATITUDE™ transmits patients’ device data to Clinician website

Your LATITUDE™ Remote Monitoring System gives your healthcare team access to your implanted cardiac device data between scheduled office visits. It is designed to improve the convenience and quality of your care, while giving you a well-founded sense of security.

Sending your Data to your Doctor, your LATITUDE™ Communicator reads information collected by your cardiac device and either sends this information to your doctor automatically or prompts you to send it at scheduled times. The LATITUDE™ Remote Monitoring System checks your implant based on a schedule set by your doctor. Depending on your system, LATITUDE™  can monitor and send your weight and blood pressure data, giving your doctor useful information in making your treatment decisions.

If you have a CRTPacemaker or ICD cardiac device your LATITUDE™ Communicator automatically collects information, such as how much energy is left in the battery, at scheduled times and sends it to your healthcare team. There may be times that the system prompts you to send data yourself.

If you have an EMBLEM™ S-ICD cardiac device, your healthcare team will set up a schedule for how often your LATITUDE™ Communicator should check information about your defibrillator and your heart condition. The white heart button will flash when it‘s time to check it and prompt you to send your data by pushing the button.

The Communicator does not conduct continuous monitoring. This data is sent to a secure website for your doctor to review. LATITUDE™ does not reprogram or change any functions of your implant. Your implant still works even if your Communicator is not working.

What type of information is sent?

The LATITUDE™ Communicator is programmed to periodically collect your implanted device’s (pacemaker, defibrillator or S-ICD) data and send the information to your doctor.

You can feel confident knowing LATITUDE™ uses advanced security methods to protect your medical information. Only authorized healthcare providers can access your information through the secure clinician website.
