Enjoy your life with your Boston Scientific LATITUDE™ NXT Communicator
Being remotely followed-up by your health care provider through the use of the LATITUDETM NXT Communicator has a minimal impact on your daily life.
When the LATITUDETM NXT communicator is installed where you spend a considerable amount of time each day, by preference near your bedside, the Communicator will operate automatically on a schedule set by your healthcare provider. Your device will be checked automatically and without your knowledge on a daily basis.
In rare cases, the Heart Button may blink. If this occurs, simply press and release the Heart Button. Stay within arm’s reach of the Communicator until all the waves are lit solid green as shown in the picture, indicating that data collection is complete.
*If you have an S-ICD device the Communicator will always prompt you for an interrogation by flashing the Heart Button.
It is very important that the Communicator remain plugged into the power outlet.
You don’t have to pay attention to the Communicator all the time. But at least you should check the Communicator daily to see if any of the indicators are lit solid or flashing.
What do you need to know about electromagnetic interference (EMI)?
Your cardiac implanted device is designed to work properly around most of the appliances and equipment. However, some items we use in our everyday lives create electromagnetic fields. If you have an implanted heart device and get too close to certain items, electromagnetic interferences (EMI) could affect your device. Talk to your doctor if you have questions regarding a specific appliance, tool, medical procedure or piece of equipment. You can find more information regarding EMI here.
Are you going on holidays?
The Communicator can be used when away from home. The healthcare provider should be consulted before planning to travel. If your healthcare provider recommends to take the Communicator with you, you have 2 possibilities:
